Don’t Let the Sun Set on TwoMorrows.com

Okay, weirdos, gather ’round. In this post I need to talk about something really important – something close to my heart, and probably yours too if you love diving deep into the world of comics and comic book history. I’m talking specifically about TwoMorrows Publishing.

If you’re like me, you practically live for the arrival of their mags Alter Ego, Back Issue, RetroFan, and those incredible American Comic Book Chronicles they keep putting out. Where else can you get such well-crafted, in-depth looks at the artists, writers, and eras that shaped the medium that shaped us? John Morrow and his crew aren’t mere publishers; they’re archivists, historians, and genuine fans keeping the vibrant history of comics alive for all of us. Their passion drips from every single well-produced page. Seriously, go check out twomorrows.com right now if you haven’t yet – the sheer wealth of knowledge is staggering.

But here’s the thing, and it breaks my heart to type this: TwoMorrows is in a tight spot. Like, a really serious one.

You might have heard whispers about the chaos in the distribution world lately. Well, the gist is this: Diamond Comic Distributors, the company that used to get TwoMorrows’ fantastic mags and books into comic shops, recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. That’s bad enough, but the real kicker? They did it without paying TwoMorrows for the shipments from December 2024 and January 2025.

Imagine putting all the work, love, and money into creating, printing, and shipping your products, only for your main distributor to go bankrupt and basically say, “Sorry, you’re not getting paid for those.” John Morrow himself said this left them with “enormous losses.” It’s created a massive cash flow crisis for them right now. They still had to pay the printers and contributors for those books and magazines, but the money they were counting on to cover those costs, and to fund new projects, simply vanished.

Now, John and the team aren’t just sitting back. They acted fast and signed an exclusive deal with Lunar Distribution (starting January 31st, 2025) to get their new releases into comic shops moving forward. That’s great news for the long term! You’ll soon see titles like Alter Ego #192, Back Issue #158, and RetroFan #37 coming via Lunar.

BUT… and this is the critical part… they won’t actually start seeing payments from Lunar for a few months. There’s a gap. A dangerous, cash-strapped gap where they have ongoing expenses but drastically reduced income.

This is where we, the fans, the readers, the people who devour every issue of Back Issue or cherish those Comic Book Creator interviews, come in.

TwoMorrows needs our support, and they need it NOW.

The single best way we can help them bridge this gap and keep the lights on is by buying directly from their website: www.twomorrows.com.

Seriously. Go there. Browse their incredible back catalog. Pick up that American Comic Book Chronicles hardcover you’ve been eyeing (I saw they had a sale on sets recently, maybe there are still deals!). Grab some back issues you missed. Pre-order upcoming releases. Subscribe! Every single dollar you spend directly with them goes straight into their pockets, helping them pay their printers, their freelancers, and keep producing the amazing content we can’t get anywhere else.

Think about the value TwoMorrows provides. The deep dives into Kirby, Ditko, the Bronze Age nightmares, the Silver Age wonders, the obscure characters brought back into the light… they are irreplaceable guardians of comics history. Losing them would be a tragedy for the entire community.

They’ve put out a call for help, and I’m amplifying it. Let’s show TwoMorrows how much we appreciate what they do. Let’s help them weather this storm caused by Diamond’s collapse. Don’t just think about it – head over to twomorrows.com right now and place an order. Big or small, every purchase makes a difference during this critical time.

Let’s keep the history alive. Let’s support the people who pour their hearts into preserving it.

Thanks for listening, weirdos. And thanks for supporting TwoMorrows – The Future of Comic Book History.
